Could the Hymns of the Church survive the Praise Song Cruncher?
On today's episode Pastors Wolfmueller and Goeglein respond to a listeners email by playing "Praise Song Cruncher". They run the sentence fragmenty, mystically Chris Tomlin song "Forever" through the Cruncher first and then they attempt to answer the listener question, "Could the Hymns of the Church survive a pass through the Praise Song Cruncher?" ... Finally, the same listener email inspires a quick game of Bible Bee. Is this good radio/podcasting, or what?
QUESTION: What is more fun than listening to Mechanical Engineer Bill Nye The (Psuedo) Science Guy give reproductive advice? ANSWER: Listening to Pastor Wolfmueller Name the endless string of Logical Fallacies that come out of Bill Nye's mouth. Now that's mediocre radio at its best!
On this episode of Table Talk Radio we spend time with a few of Pastor Wolfmueller’s favorite things – “Buzzwords and eMails and Kick Dog and Comfort Child; 10 Commandments in the News and then we’ll be done for a while.” All that after a shameless plug for Pastor Wolfmueller’s new podcast on Worldview Everlasting called “Grappling With The Text.”
We hold this doctrine to be self-evident; that all men are born sinful and unclean. There is nothing like a rousing game of Table Talk Jeopardy to prove the mediocrity of Table Talk Radio. Then we play a quick game of Bumper Sticker Theology. Sometimes we just get on a roll!
Buzzwords, Email, and Prayer, oh my! So, what is all the buzz about? Well, we actually play “Bible Bee” this week. Really. No foolin’! Then we play a new/old game, “Name the Papal Declaration” … or is it “The Pope Says Whaaaaat?” Either way it is just an excuse to talk about the Pope’s visit to the USA and discuss what the Pope says about himself.
After some buzzwords it is time once again to crunch on some praise songs. On this episode we run “Hold Me” by Toby Mack through the Praise Song Cruncher and ask, “Is Jesus holding you?” and then we run “A New Creation” by Bel Thompson through the Cruncher. Will these songs pass? Listen and see!
And just ignore all the buzz about playing Bible Bee. Sorry, we just ran out of time.
Test your Theologian naming skills along with Pastors Goeglein and Wolfmueller on this episode of Table Talk Radio. Then we will see if the praise song “This is Amazing Grace” is able to pass the Praise Song Cruncher.
After we fire off a few buzzwords we attempt to put the best construction on listener email. Then we get busy Preaching to Hollywood, or do we? We will also look for the 10 Commandments in the News. If this isn’t the best mediocre radio on the inter-web then ... we had better get busy with next weeks show!
What do you do after getting back from your honeymoon? You get right back to mediocre radio, what else! After we get a quick honeymoon report we spend the rest of the show answering your emails and discuss the 10 Commandments, tattoos, Gnosticism, Demon possession/oppression/troubling, Efficacy of the Word, and Choice in Heaven.
Is your District President Missional, Missionarific or Hyper-Missionified? On this episode of Table Talk Radio we ask the question, just “How Biga Missionalist Are Ya?”. We attempt to listen to the report LCMS Northwest District President Paul Linnemann gave at a recent Northwest District Convention and ask how many of the 12 signs of being a Missionalist apply.
